Common Ground Farm Celebrating 16th Year With Harvest Gala

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Common Ground Farm, in Wappingers Falls, has been community farming for 16 years.

The non-profit is hosting its first ever Harvest Gala on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Roundhouse at 2 East Main St. in Beacon.

The organization, which supplies food to many Hudson Valley restaurants, food pantries, soup kitchens, farmers markets, and churches is dedicated to food access, food justice and educating people about the importance of healthy food.

Common Ground has a farm to school initiative with the Beacon City School District and also hosts a 7-week summer camp. It also manages the Beacon Farmers Market.

The Harvest Gala will feature gourmet dishes prepared with local ingredients by chef Terrance Brennan. The gala will feature local food prepared with produce and protein from local Hudson Valley farms and cocktails by Drink More Good
